But with every blow and breath she took she was growing weaker and her heat vision seemed ineffective against its wretched crystal hide, and for all the damage she dealt, it seemed to be self repairing.

Finally Kara's struggles beneath Brainaics hand that held her ceased....

A little grim, but it is all needed for the story. I decided to feature the near end of the fight rather than the fight itself, with Brainiac considerably damaged, and even having to re-grow a limb, and some minor damage to Powergirl's uniform and cape.
