Actually, I quite enjoy this page. The characters and their poses all look very natural, and sometimes the strongest point in a comic with such cartoony characters can be the lack of detail, it really makes the page flow smoother and allows the characters a chance to really fit into the world around them.
In short, I think this page looks better then you make it out to be
