Just picked the new issue from the magazine stand! Fantastic cover (if only I would have the mag ordered directly to my home and get the subscriber's covers without the selling text blocks: Look at this! Amazing that! ZING!). I too like this piece very much, I mean they are both great but I like the tones you managed to create for her skin.

And once again you prove to yourself as one of my favorite artists. Not that you have to prove yourself to anyone, or anything, but one day, I can only hope I'm going to be as good as you.
Keep it up.

It's really amazing, to me anyways... to see your control of the copic medium on this piece alone. I love how the boots, and the far left arm are done on the lower shades, but the suit is on the rich/darker side. Most people wouldn't think of that. I'd think of it, but never feel confident enough to try it out... well, at least yet.
Really great and at least from me, I want to thank you for taking the time to showing us the more traditional 'step by step' on how you accomplished this piece.

I KNOW I should be looking at that gorgeous face of hers, but, but,...my eyes can't look away from how the material strains and stretches at the bust!! But,...that's the whole point, innit?!
I have to say I've resisted markers as a toning medium for years, one reason I didn't want to use them just because they'd become "popular." But, I've taken the plunge and, wow, Copic markers are really, really nice! I think I'll be using them more in the future!

I adore the way you got the texture just right on her boots. I want to own those boots.

Thanks for sharing this, Adam!
A question I would like to ask is; using the black pencil around the figure? Is this to create a less 'hard line' drawing and to bring it more into a painted look? Or is there some other reason...perhaps you just like the way it looks?
Wonderful piece of art!

I have no idea. You ever do a piece and it just doesn't 'feel finished' unless to kiss it with something at the very end? That's how the black pencil feels.

LOL! OK...that works...sometimes it does just have to 'feel' right! Thx, Adam!

I *really* love how your Catwoman always looks like Audrey Hepburn. It would have totally been awesome if she had ever played Catwoman, too.

I'll have a DVD coming out very soon that follows me doing a COPIC piece, start-to-finish. If you go to YouTube there's 3 mini-lessons we did during the same shoot. When the DVD is ready for sale, we'll let everyone know where to get it and how much it'll cost.

This is absolutely gorgeous.
The contrasts between the warm grays and cold grays work very well with this one. Have you ever thought of purchasing Copic's neutral grays to add another value set?

Maybe someday. I'm overwhelmed with all my COPICs as it is, what with the refills and all.

You would think someone who's a thiefe would want smaller shoes, not those giant clunking boots. Still; this is amazing.

Would you be mad if I said I like the un-Photoshopped piece a little more? There's something about the "natural" ink and colors before the touch-ups that are really fascinating...
