Man, that looks way too clean. I've never bought an ImagineFX, magazines are just too expensive, but I may have to make an exception for this one.

It's some comic-book fabric that has the durability of leather with the look of latex.

Yeah. Let's run with that.

WOW, when you go all out, you go all out, Adam! Nice job thus far. Looks like this is one Imagine FX that I'm gonna have to get. Granted, I'm more of a visual learner, which leads to videos being the best way for me to learn and understand... this should be interesting to see what your tutorial is about.

Looks great! Kudos.

GreenSprite In reply to ??? [2011-01-30 17:01:41 +0000 UTC]

When I tried mixing markers and ink, I kind of ruined my paper. Markers seen to be oily, and my coloured inks don't like that? Maybe copics are different.

Either way, fantastic work, and it's jaw-droppingly precise and clean, considering it's traditional art. 'Guess that's what being a pro means.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamHughes In reply to GreenSprite [2011-01-30 22:29:19 +0000 UTC]

The only area I used the ink was on the darkest blacks, to make sure the absolute blacks were DEEP. I never mixed the media while wet. I just applied India ink to an already dried area.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GreenSprite In reply to AdamHughes [2011-01-30 23:10:14 +0000 UTC]

I only layer different media once the paper is dry, too. I guess black India ink (or your particular brand) may be chemically different than the coloured inks I use. Oh well.

Thank you for replying!

What did you use to create the gradients on the Latex? Is it just marker percentage up to Inks?

Look forward to the final!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamHughes In reply to Hodges-Art [2011-01-30 22:32:08 +0000 UTC]

Yup. Just COPIC markers all the way to black, then some India Ink to make the blacks darker than a steer's tuchus on a moonless prairie night.

The COPIC Special Black 110 seems black, until you're trying to do a latex outfit. I needed blackety black, so I had to go elsewhere...
