While 1 rendering like this takes up to 1 hour (okey... in like 4k) its not so easy.
that would mean a day of rendering xD
but maybe something, some day...

I know some guys that would probably fan-gasm if they saw that but if its not in the cards man dont worry about it. I just love the images of your designs Because I also have some stuff in the works for my Fan Based version of Stargate (thats also a RP) and i am going a little ham with the Designs and I plan on doing a bit of landscaping after i get my next 3 ship design out. i hope that I can get on the same level as yours but i know i am now where near that it doesnt help that I dont know how to do 3D modeling yet.

Im looking forward to seeing yours
Actually, learning 3D is quite tricky. Ive been learning it (and yeah, still heavily learning) for 7 years by myself (maybe some day in a school xd after university) and its hard to find out what you need for it. But, if you really wanna, you can do it
Although, if you can, do some school in CGI, or something, its much faster.

That sounds like a great idea because i have been writing Stargate Alter-Verse for about 10 years now and i would love to release a small fan made CGI series that everyone can watch.
Thanks for giving me an idea how hard the road ahead is.

Your welcome
But in your case, it can be easier, back then I couldnt speak in english, so learning from tutorials was sooo difficult. Maybe this led me to learn the language xD
An other thing you will need, is a powerful PC... Modeling and rendering on a laptop like mine (with 1st gen i5 an Intel GMA) is challenging. Especially with +800k polygons xD an i dont like low-poly... Although this ship above has some parts not really considered being high poly.

Its funny that is actually what my computer was originally made for I have a 3.4Gz I7 Processor but that all i remember about my specs. Also I got mad fucking respect for you now you learned English while you learned to 3D Model. But yea what was the program you used?

AdamJCross In reply to Commander-Fillmore [2018-01-19 18:37:45 +0000 UTC]
Then its not a problem xD
Yeah, that was the main inspiration, however Ive been learning english for 17 years (in school and now by myself, although its more likely just using it now 😂)
I have used some programs. I started with SketchUp (non of them models are available here), used some Cinema 4D and tried a veeerry little bit of blender. (Blender mainly just for models provided in *.blend) but my main tool is Autodesk 3D Studio Max (since 2012). I used Max8, Max9, Max2009, Max2010, Max2011, Max2012, Max2013 (current) but i tried ot Max2014, Max2015 and Max2017 but these are too hungry pets for my machine.

Ooh I was wondering which one do you suggest starting out with?

AdamJCross In reply to Commander-Fillmore [2018-01-19 22:27:28 +0000 UTC]
I suggest SketchUp, its easier to understand structures, cuz you have to build up things (almost) edge by edge, and its free (as I know, its still free)
First of all, you need to understand how to build up bigger structures from small pieces. In sketchup you can do it polygon by polygon

Yeah, Actually, learning by your own, is very challenging.
But... It will worth the time

Hell yea I have a frien that is actually doing programming with unity and he wants me to do some story writing and when he heard that I was getting into 3d modeling he asked for my help so I now have more of a reason to get into it i just hope I get it done before I go into the US Marine Corps

AdamJCross In reply to Commander-Fillmore [2018-01-22 18:36:50 +0000 UTC]
Then I wish you good luck with it
I dont know much bout US Marine Corps (i just saw it now, its not the same as the US Navy xD) although I always liked it, but im so far from it (Hungary) but anyways, I dont know how much time will you have during that period, but I can imagine, as Im on university and my days are so crowded... Not so much time for that, probably youll have fewer :\
For unity.... I think its a bit easier, for that purpose the models are lower in poly count so they are would be textured rather then modeled in in every aspects. I always model every part of my ships (except for warp plasma, its often a self illuminating noise/smoke map xD) but for unity it must be textured onto the models surface (like windows, panels and etc) unless that project is intended to be high poly, but then its a pain in the ass and very high in system requirements. :\
