Sci-Fi Commisions (2D & 3D) August specialHello, you arrived at my Commisions page :)
If you are interested in getting a CGI image created for you, please continue to the section you are interested in. There are three sections:
Section A for all kinds of 2D images
Section B for various 3D renders
Section C for blueprints and line art

I do all kinds of art and I'm opened to different styles (vector drawings of a Star Wars ship, 3D render of a Stargate vehicle, blueprint for a Dune tank and of course every kind ย of original universe objects and scenes) so don't be afraid to ask for what you want.
You can also check examples of my commisioned work and private gallery works on the

I like the idea behind this one.

One of the things that turns me off a bit is the lack of greebles. Even the AT-ST had quite a lot of detail on its legs and hips. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but an Imperial walker really needs a tone of detail. I think if you look at some model kit sprues, you might find inspiration for convincingly Star-Wars looking detail.

The pentagonal/hexagonal projection on the back needs to be a lighter or darker shade, as it blends in with the background too much and thus appears to be untextured.

One last thing is the leg mechanism doesn't look like it would actually work. There's nowhere for the inner support/shock absorber thing to go. The ankle joints also don't appear overtly functional, as there's no indication that they would be capable of movement.

However, I really think it is a good, unique design. It just needs a heck of a lot more detail, as it appears unfinished right now.

(If I'm coming across as a bit short with you, forgive me. I think I'm coming down with a cold or something and my head is foggy)

Thanks a lot for the critique ! I must admit that I cut down the details because once I did the lighting and texture work, adding details proved to be troublesome. I set a pretty weird light source in the initial draft and I just didn't want to redo it all so I decided to save all the details for the 3D model which I should be doing soon.

No problem, and I'm looking forward to the 3D model.

I'm sorry but, that would not able to stand up.

Well, that was fixed in the 3D model which I even animated at one point, but didn't do anything with it further.

Kind of looks like a mixture of an AT-PT and an AT-ST.

Gileum [2012-09-24 20:19:09 +0000 UTC]

I feel like this would be great if the "head" wasnt so far forward. it looks like it has to use all of it's strength to keep itself from falling forward.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AdamKop In reply to Gileum [2012-09-24 21:04:39 +0000 UTC]

Well I adressed that problem a few times already, the head along with the rear cargo hold sits atop the center of its feet
You can see that better in this 3D shot :[link]

Looks cool, but I think it would fall, due to the weight of the cockpit. Considering it only has two legs it would fall over.

TheDragonWarlock [2012-08-24 21:02:40 +0000 UTC]

It looks like an interesting design, but what it really needs is a third leg to hold up the front side much like an AT-AP.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AdamKop In reply to TheDragonWarlock [2012-08-24 21:07:14 +0000 UTC]

Well it may not seem like it, but the centre of its weight is actually in the middle and it should hold up pretty well

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

TheDragonWarlock In reply to AdamKop [2012-08-24 21:17:17 +0000 UTC]

I can kind of see it, but maybe it's just me thinking that it needs a third leg.

TheOutlawBaker [2012-08-21 19:12:43 +0000 UTC]

I actually like the way it looks offbalance. I always figured the atsts must have had some anti-gravity for support anyways bc they would fall over too.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AdamKop In reply to TheOutlawBaker [2012-08-21 19:34:13 +0000 UTC]

Well there were no anti-gravs on them as far as I know (from technical books), but they had some sort of machinery that helped them keep the balance ... anyway, it's Star Wars Perhaps they put midichlorians into these things

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

TheOutlawBaker In reply to AdamKop [2012-08-22 23:11:26 +0000 UTC]

Either way, I like the unique look

Gwiber [2012-08-21 13:16:13 +0000 UTC]

All I can think, is:

they will put a pilot in,

power it up,

let it off the gantry holding it up, and...

it will fall on its face.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AdamKop In reply to Gwiber [2012-08-21 13:20:29 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry, it won't Legs are in the middle of its length and the seats can fit only in the bigger part of the "head". The front is shaped like that to make it better protected from laser blasts by making them glance off the angled surface.

What program do you use for throwing together your prototypes?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AdamKop In reply to ultracellodude [2012-08-20 07:09:00 +0000 UTC]

I set up a basic model in 3ds max and then I continue drawing in photoshop. Once I have all of the things done I go back to 3ds max and redo the model with all the details and changes.

FeloniusMonk [2012-08-19 21:12:44 +0000 UTC]

The body reminds me of Star Trek in it's shape, interesting design though

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AdamKop In reply to FeloniusMonk [2012-08-19 21:14:50 +0000 UTC]

Ah I was hoping someone will say it's similar to Aliens or BSG designs It will become more Star Wars-ish with updates.

NiceAndrew [2012-08-19 19:42:14 +0000 UTC]

Does this thing have a pilot?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AdamKop In reply to NiceAndrew [2012-08-19 19:56:57 +0000 UTC]

Yep, even two. I want this one to be some sort of an AT-AT/ST predecessor by having features of both.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

Colonel-Eviscerator [2012-08-18 22:30:21 +0000 UTC]

It really seems like the weight is too far forward. In all honesty, I'd recommend reversing the torso, and having the 'head' rotated to face forward again.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AdamKop In reply to Colonel-Eviscerator [2012-08-19 08:29:17 +0000 UTC]

Not to worry The head is not even 50% done so it will have an extra weight on the rear, I'm just thinking of a fitting design. Also, the feet will be a bit heavier.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Colonel-Eviscerator In reply to AdamKop [2012-08-19 19:31:54 +0000 UTC]

Ahh, good. Anything on two legs tends to look better with some junk in the trunk

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

Seeras [2012-08-18 21:49:25 +0000 UTC]

looks a bit unstable but I like it.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AdamKop In reply to Seeras [2012-08-18 22:09:20 +0000 UTC]

It's still in the drawing process Legs will probably be a bit more like AT-AT's legs and there will be more to the "head" but I'm not sure what just yet.
