There's one continuous dotted line across the sky... any idea what it was?
Looks amazing.

Pleasure
Wouldn't the trails be more smooth if you used a single long exposure?
Of course, the sky would be more lot more bright in that case.

You could, potentially, but it eats up processing power and battery like a ravenous demon.Β Β There's also the issue of buffering- for every minute of shot, there's at least 30 seconds of buffering to transfer and compress all of the information (depending on the memory card and camera body, of course- it can vary widely); that, in turn, heats up the camera, which could cause fogging in certain conditions (I had this issue during the Perseid Meteor Shower, unfortunately).
In a long exposure that is beyond a few minutes, the sky gets an unflattering greenish hue and there can be other optical distortions/chromatic aberrations (personal experience)- if you wanted to do startrails in a long continuous shot, you'd want a full battery, a good lens with a wide aperture (think f/1.8 or so), a tripod, a shutter release and a nice dark ND filter (neutral density- it basically just limits light so that you don't get blown out images.)Β
And patience. Lots of that.

I can't thank you enough, ma'am.
Feels great when someone takes the time and effort to answer a question like this.
And I also apologize for the delay. Lately I have become quite irregular in dA. That will change soon, hopefully.
Thanks, once again
P.S: I think I am addicted to your 'conceptual' folder.

Interesting picture.
Which program do you use to combine the photos?
