Description
Finally finished painting this piece, photoshop and painter as usual. Someone needs to merge those two into one super program. The idea here is that the Brainiac of present-day continuity has somehow run amok, and is attacking 31st century metropolis. Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad are first on the scene, awed by the carnage taking place. Mostly I just wanted to draw Saturn Girl, who is my new favorite super-type female. The context just grew from there.
All characters copyright of DC comics.
edit: cooled down the glowing horizon after a criticism which confirmed a suspicion I had had, namely that the warm background color made the picture spatially confusing. Apologies to anyone who faved and preferred the old version; but I think this is a lot more clear and dynamic.

Okay, seriously. I can't find anything wrong with this piece. It's absolutely spectacular...so this crit is probably going to end up like a very long comment than a critique.
The perspective is awesome. I love work that does different perspectives, and I think you did really well in that area.
Saturn Girl looks so pretty, you gave her that "innocent" type look, and it really works for her. Lightning Lad looks totally bada$$, which is how I like seeing him. He looks like there's no way he's going to hold back on that tiny little skull-droid.
If there was one thing I would suggest, is to take out those two stray hairs on Irma's top curl. For me, it takes away from the flow of her hair. I think it would look better (if you still wanted stray hair) if they still flowed in the same direction, but were separated from the mass. (The rest of her hair is great, by the way. I can't stop looking at it.)
In conclusion, wonderful piece. I'd love to see more LoSH work! (Hopefully I'm getting better at writing these critiques!)

this is VERY EPIC! Like, wow this bloody amazing! I loved the way you drew Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad. It looks like the lightning bolts on his costume are glowing and that's awe-inspiring! U r a FANTASTIC artist. As a writer with limited traditional art talent, I have a lot of respect for artists, especially fan-artists who do stuff like this! great job!

Thanks, man, I appreciate it. This is one of my favorite of my own pieces, though in retrospect I kinda wish I had inked it (I actually still could, but life is busy, no?).
