Description Another tutorial, my first that actually deals with drawing skills. I tried to keep this very concise, more pictures than words, so there might not be as much information as should be. Hopefully its still helpful, and I'm always happy to clarify stuff, just let me know.

BTW, this tutorial is almost, but not quite, for beginners. It assumes some basic exposure to linear perspective, and is designed to help people get more comfortable with perspective, and find new and better ways to use it.

Edit: Wow, much thanks for the great positive response to this. If I had known this was going to see this much traffic, I would have checked my spelling more carefully. I was debating making a part two dealing with curved perspective; which I'll definitely try to get done in the next few weeks. Thanks for all your comments, apologies if I don't respond; you folks have flooded me.

Edit 2: Wow, a DD... now I REALLY wish I had checked my spelling and grammar. Thanks for the comments and faves, everyone; really glad to hear that this has been helpful. I've learned so much from all the great tutorials here on dA, so hopefully this pays some of that forward a little bit. And thank you to and for the nod; very appreciated.

Very nice, concise guide! You explain things in a few steps that other tutorials make way over-complicated. And I love that it's freehand. It makes this thing most people find intimidating into something fun and simple, and it makes it easier to grasp the ideas behind perspective instead of getting bogged down wondering if you're doing the lines right.

What an incredibly detailed and useful tutorial. I've never been a huge participant of perspective, mostly because I can rarely find a tutorial or assistance that inspires me to try but I certainly have a change of heart after reading this. The grid lines were unexpected but I think i'll give it a shot

I definitely like this tutorial. I read that same book, Perspective for Comic Book Artists, when I was about twelve and ever since I've been trying to do the same thing in the loose, sketchy style that I have. This is such a great help, because it shows how I don't need to be absolutely perfect when I'm doing all those lines.

I haven't learned much about perspectives during my schooldays but this tutorial is really helpful. It will definitely help me in the near future (since it's rare for me to draw a decent background, let stand buildings and whatnot) I'll probably pass it on to a few friends who can really use this Thank you for making this tutorial!

PERSPECTIVE!

I love imagining eccentric perspective and angles for some of my planned artsies, but I've had SO MUCH trouble applying it to a piece of paper that I gave up on a lot of ideas. Thanks for making the tutorial!

This is awesome. Thanks so much for making this. You're so right: I'm starting to see that perspective is so important, particularly since I'm seeing that the lack of attention to it is one of the big weaknesses in my drawing skills. I have some work ahead of me, and this will help a ton. Thanks!!
