This will be a Christmas present, so its hand inks for a change, always fun, but never as good as my digital inks. Some people may note the absence of Anakin/Vader, which leads into my...
Anakin/Vader Rant
Anakin sacrificed his life to kill Palpatine and save his son, which is all well and good. However, there is no way that this reverses a lifetime of wanton murder and terror. From slaughtering Jedi children in the temple to casually asphyxiating every underling who forgot to tie his shoes, Vader was about as viciously evil as it gets. Even Palpatine's actions can be rationalized as promoting order and stability; Vader is just purely evil.
The extended universe lore is that the secret to returning from the grave, which Qui-Gon discovers, is a completely selfless compassion that allows one to abandon the ego entirely. As a Buddhist myself, I of course identify with those aspects of Jedi religion which are based on the dharma, but this seems pretty explicit. And there is no way that Anakin can go from a lifetime of casual murder to a selfless Bodhisattva in, like, twenty minutes. My interpretation of the ending of Jedi is that Qui-gon, Obi Wan and Yoda brought Anakin forth to give closure to Luke, and to honor his successful effort to bring Vader back to the light. In other words, a one-time appearance based on the spiritual accomplishments of *those three*, not of Anakin.
Anyway, this picture shows the wisdom lineage of the last surviving Jedi: his teachers Obi Wan and Yoda, and Qui-Gon Jinn, who taught Obi Wan, and was both student and teacher to Yoda. Tried to follow the advice of , who once made a distinction between drawing the character, and drawing the *actor* playing the character. I tried to do the former here, with varying success.

I usually don't make much of a comment, most of the time just a "atta boy/girl" or fav'ing it, but I had to comment, both because of my love of Star Wars and my personal connection to your art, and say I love the interpretation and thought that you put into this piece and, given your permission of course, would be honored if you would let me lay some colors on this piece. That said, well done, my friend.

Thanks, man, I really appreciate it. I am starting to see some drawing flaws, but overall I was pretty happy with the piece, mostly 'cause the characterizations came out very close to how I see these characters. So its great to hear that it speaks to you as well.
I think I'm going to color this one myself, but you are more than welcome to color up your own version as well. It'll be fun to see two different takes on it, actually. Just note me with an email address, and I'll send you a hi-res to work from.
