Description
So, I've always said I'd never do super hero stories. Not that I don't love them, but they've all been done, sometimes to death (several times over.) But then I got an idea; and its really as simple as that. This is just a tiny snippet of that idea, and lord knows if it'll ever go any further, but here it is; enjoy, and let me know what you think.Related content

Thanks! Wish this project had more than just a backstory...

I really wonder what storylines can be done here. Sorry, can't stop thinking about Whirlwind.

Brilliant artwork and a nice, uplifting story. I always loved speedster superheroes, even though there are a lot of them in fiction. Good work!

Thanks! I, of course, also like me some speedsters.

This is a pretty creative origin for a speedster. I like where this is going!
I will admit, at first I thought there'd be too much crossover with what I'm doing with speedsters in my comic and that I'd have to scrap it and restart, but our approaches stand pretty far apart. And both stand apart from the current reigning monarch of speedsters, the Flash.Β
Gives me hope that there's more than a bit more gas in the tank for the superhero genre after all.
Also what a great costume!

Thanks, Monk. There's something special about speedsters; never had any doubt that its my favorite super power. Love to see what you're working on, any idea when you'll be posting?

I've already started. You can check things out at starhammercomic.com
And yeah speedsters are pretty awesome and working out how their abilities work is both fun and challenging.Β

Boss! Love your speed powers mechanics; I'd considered something similar (mini-wormholes and bending space), but ended up keeping it more traditional, purely for the silver-age vibe. Those designs are great too (we both went with goggles ).

The second I created her I knew I wanted to break here from the messiness that comes with the physics of truly running at super-speed. I also had a name picked out. It was simply a matter of merging both of those things together in a relatively clean mechanics that are intuitive enough for a reader while also fun to depict visually.
The artist was able to figure out everything from description alone. So that gives me hope.
And yes, goggles are always a must!
Is she the only superhero in her world?

Oh no, this whole idea revolves around a team. It's just taking a while to build it.

Awesome! Wish I could say there was tons more coming soon, but this took me months to squeeze in. Might have another installment before the summer is over...

Whoa!!! Sol cool. That first panel on page 2 looks like she is about to spring off the page. Really cool!

Thanks, man! As a Flash fan from age 12, I've spent countless hours obsessing about how to visually depict super speed, so I'm glad you dig that one.
