This is really a beautiful portrait. It's not easy to take a dog's photo and have it look like a portrait rather than a snapshot, but you've accomplished that beautifully here!

Thank you. Yes I have always found animals a difficult subject, but at this stage, Bandit had worn himself out and was content to let me get close to him with the camera and not try to lick the lens.
My own dog Charlie is even more difficult, because not only is he a bundle of energy, he is mostly black and I have difficulty with exposure and getting him to look something other than a black blob.

What bad luck to meet up with three nasty Heelers. Thankfully Bandit is a real softy and the only thing you get from him is love and very wet slurpy kisses.
