Description
Y'vagarri, Sunspear for the Viscarri Elves.Viscarri elves are the "Sun" elves in my AD&D campaign world. They're an NPC race.
The background I just threw in there to not be empty. Don't ask me about the monkeys. I don't KNOW why there are monkeys in the background there just ARE.
I'm really pleased with how her armor came out as well as the dragon himself.
Overall scene is fairly meh though because of the background. Maybe I'll re-render it.

Monkeys are getting everywhere ...
Maybe by not lighting the background so much you could get a better focus on the dragon and the lady?

Not a bad idea. Could also pull down the color tone in the diffuse channel which might help create additional contrast.

Excellent point. I think you hit on what bugs me so much about the background that I couldn't put my finger on!

The Multi-Layered Image Editor is one of my favorite DAZ plugins.

My next image is one I'm going to try to do all in DS.
I have a lot to learn about lighting & rendering with it.
I may reach out to you for some tips...

Excellent!
Those are some brave monkeys. About the size of a quick dragon snack!

Although I imagine a good Dragon Rider can keep at bay their mount's natural feeding instincts.

Sound like these elves would keep their dragons well controlled, then when they are really hungry, release them into the battle arena with a few captured prisoners/useless slaves and watch the resulting spectacle. Although that might not be the best idea, as that there might be a small chance of the dragons suffering some harm. Just some idle speculation.

Would take a huge amount of explaining to detail it all, but the short of it amounts to this: The Viscarri control the nearly all of the worlds "Major" dragons. Since Major dragons are exceedingly rare all the non-wild ones are generally quite well protected (those are supposed to be magical tattoos on the dragon). In the campaign setting it is really unlikely one would be put into a situation where it could be damaged purely for entertainment. That isn't to say that they aren't, frequently, used for performing executions or exposed to danger in the name of expanding the empire though.

No need for detailed explanations. Sounds like the Viscarri should generally be avoided by outsiders (read gamers ).
They would probably avoid risking damaging the rare dragons although they would probably cater to their hunting/feeding instincts in some fashion. If it provided for some entertainment or political control, so much the better.

Thanks! I still think it needs a better setting / background. ^_^;;
