An old-ish con sketch of Nene and Linna from BUBBLEGUM CRISIS. Yes, they indeed have lips, in this version of the characters; please, just DEAL WITH IT, those of you who are prone to conniptions at the very idea of an anime character with a mouth that's not entirely muppet-like. After all, shockingly enough, a burgeoning number of "real manga-ka" (that is, authentic Japanese artists) actually draw visible lips on their characters nowadays...Amusingly enough, I turned to the inside back cover of EMPOWERED vol. 1 (my "sexy superhero comedy" from Dark Horse, on sale this Wednesday, March 21st!) and was stunned to discover that Dark Horse apparently still has copies of the TPB of BUBBLEGUM CRISIS: GRAND MAL for sale! GRAND MAL was my 1994 miniseries telling a new tale of the Knight Sabers; I'm quite surprised to find it's still available.

One day, people will get over the whole "Lips on Manga Characters" idiocy, and come to realize how flipping good you are.
Seriously, being able to draw Women highly attractively, even when they are glad in ultra-tech armor, is a skill not even God's have.

Your pencil drawings have such a fluidness that makes it extremely enjoyable to look at. I think that is what seperates you from most other artists in comics today. You don't phone it in.

the hard suits are just damn sexy. I was upset in the new series that they didn't make Nene's hair pink. sadness! And people who complain about the lips can just suck it. I love the way you draw lips, it's awesome. It's expressive. <3

Beautiful renditions of two of my favorite anime characters of all time! Your skill at drawing beautiful women (as well as the heavily detailed mechanical armor) amazes me. I could definitely stand to learn a lot from you and your style.
