Description
Here's the full-color version of a (peaceful!) Hulk card I drew and inked for Upper Deck last year, with masterful colors applied by Guru eFX (colorists of LIVEWIRES and IRON MAN: HYPERVELOCITY).You can see the B&W inks at:

Pay close attention to those fir trees in the background... Note that Los Gurus painted over the mere silhouettes, transforming them into authentic-looking, verra impressive conifers! Looks great, and is certainly a "way beyond the call of duty" bit of color art, IMHO. Sweet!

And that bluebird somehow tells me that "everything is satisfachul" (the lyric popped into my head this morning). Very nice rendering throughout!

Adam, your hulk is really... unique. However, I love your brushwork so much though, anything you do is fun to look at.
As for the fella who worked on that background--Kee-rist! That's FRIGGIN' amazing! Hold on to that guy he's going places... although I think the detail on the clouds on the upper lefthand-side is just a bit too much (is that an imported photo?) for the essentially cartoony style illustration.
But I REALLY hope you do some more work with this guy in the future-- this is print quality work (imo).

Hey, thanks much... But I should hasten to clarify that I don't ink with a brush! I use Japanese Zebra "maru" (crow quill) pens, which provide all the fluidity and grace of a brush, modulated by the greater precision and control of a pen tip.
On the other hand, I USED to be a brush inker, right up through the first two Dirty Pair series... When I switched over to pen nibs (first the American Hunt EF 104, then the Japanese "maru"), my inking quality improved DRAMATICALLY, almost overnight. In effect, I still ink like a brush inker, but I do so with a pen.
As for the coloring: I just signed up to do another five cards for Upper Deck, and the talented lads of Guru eFX will once again be handling the Photoshooppery. Wheeee!

I still can't get it through my head that he's closer and the trees next to him are farther away. It just appears that way to me, so he looks like a jolly-green-giant sized hulk.
