Description
A character design sheet for the heroine from my long-defunct MATRIX ONLINE story... Her design was based largely off the work of BLADE OF THE IMMORTALβs Hiroaki Samura, more specifically from the characters of Rin and Hyakurin.Please pardon the crappiness of the file, which is a low-res jpeg scanned from a fax page(!), for some reason; hey, it was either this, or no illo whatsoever.

Now I remember one of the reasons why you're one of my favourite artist: expressions! Everytime you draw any kind of character it's easy to understand what they think! I wish I could have just half of this fantastic skill! I admire/worship you!

Even with the scan quality, this is still beautiful work. You've got a really good eye for design, expecially on your female characters; their faces and proportions are incredibly well done. The amount of expressiveness that you show on their faces is a quality of your work that I have long admired, and a skill that I have long striven to attain.

I can definately see a Samura influence in the top-right face indeed. Her expression, eyes and mouth shape especially, does remind me of Rin quite a bit. ^_&
