Description
Another PSM endpage humor piece... This time, the piece shows the aftermath of RESIDENT EVIL 4 losing the magazine's "Game of the Year" award to GOD OF WAR, with RE4's embittered cast drowning their sorrows and grousing about possible reasons why they lost.Explanatory note: at the time, Chris Slate was the editor-in-chief of PSM, hence the Plagas threat to TP his house. Hi, Chris!
Further note: Never got very far in GOD OF WAR, which seemed like a lot o' fun, but was WAAAAAAY too much of a DEVIL MAY CRY-style "button-masher" for my somewhat fragile drawing hand to tolerate. (Sadly, I can't play any game that requires a great deal of sustained, high-speed button-mashing, so my once-beloved fighting games are likewise off-limits now.)
On the other hand, RE4 may well be my favorite game EVAR, or is at least right up in the top five...
UPDATE: As several people have noted, the line:
"...hideous, parasitic lawyers...if you'll pardon the oxymoron."
...should, of course, read:
"...hideous, parasitic lawyers...if you'll pardon the redundancy."
No idea why/how I made this inexplicable error (I think it even reads "redundancy" in the rough version), but nobody spotted it prior to publication. Well, maybe everyone thought I was trying to kiss up to the (no doubt HUGE) demographic of lawyers who read PSM...

haha this is awesome....i dont see why god of war won to resi4....iv never played god of war but iv watched my friend play it and it looks kinda challenging.....im a real newb to resi 4 but it's freakin easy as hell. i just dont like havin to take care of the presidents daughter.....all this way for a kid....i better git payed BIG bucks for this.

I love God of War-- and I love RE4 too. I just recently beat the game after quitting for a year. D: I rented it on GameCube first (only to have the second disc scratched). Bought it on PS2 later, too mad to go through my entire adventure and gain all my stuff again. But finally found the nerve and beat it three days ago. Can't stop playing it now (loved RE2, collected the novelizations, etc etc.).
Anyway, I love this comic so darn much. I couldn't help but laugh at the Plaga's comment. As for who should have won? That's hard. I really loved the depth of God of War (didn't like part 2 as much), but I love RE! If GameCube had done better, I bet RE would have done great. D: It had to have been to even be remade for the wii. Nintendo love. XD
