Description
The second of a bunch of old developmental sketches I did in preparation for a WIZARD Magazine cover, waaaay back in 2000 (I think). The editor wanted a rendering of various mainstream-comics characters in "anime/ manga" style... So here, I was messing around with chara design takes on Spider-man, Spawn (I still like the "Hello Kitty skulls" on his cape) and Batman.Related content

(giggles) Yes, those "Hello Kitty!" skulls on his cape are a very nice touch. I bet those would freak out more badasses than the standard ones. I mean seriously... which would you find more threatening, a guy who can obviously kick your butt, or a guy who can kick your butt and is twisted enough to wear cutesy skulls? A guy who'd wear such cute additions to his costume might want to see what sort of "really cute" things he could do to you before putting you out of your misery... (grins)

spiderman is my favorite character of all super heros^^ he is the most interesting hero to draw. he got the best skill and moves at all.

The Hello Kitty Spawn skulls are hilarious. Reminiscent of Tom McWeeny's work of Spawn in some of his spoof gigs.
Overall I love that you give reference to the stylist you are utilizing in certain elements a la Peter's Bishi face there.
