Nice composition and detail on the peice! The words of wisdom on the nature of wanting are also spot on, and appreciated. I find the more I create art, the less I want (except refreshed supplies); mindfulness and age help form perspective too. After all, a career in art is meant to be enjoyed and cherished for all it has to offer. Inspiration is nice, but then it's important to show up every day for work regardless.

All true. I've found that the more I had to learn to do without things I thought I wanted, the more I found I didn't actually want those things at all. And the happier I became, as well, which is a nice bonus! I appreciate and derive more pleasure from the simple but important things around me than I ever would have all the stuff I might have bought with a job that payed more.

Funny man, Steve Martin. Had one of his standup albums as a kid - Let's Get Small. I grew up listening to him, George Carlin, and Bill Cosby. Two of those men never let me down.
And yes, professional success and financial success don't always go hand-in-hand. But you can get enough to keep you going, and that's really... well... all you need.
