Description Flash con sketch from C2E2 earlier this year. I don't draw Flash a lot, partly because good running poses are tough (especially masculine running poses). But all the cool stuff I've been seeing out of inspired me, I guess.

I agree. Wally's my favorite Flash too although I do like Barry Allen a lot (post-resurrection that is, mainly sice Geoff Jones dose him so well.) And then there's Zoom. One of my favorite villains. Hunter that is. Love how you did the speed effects by the way.

This, is my attempt: [link]

Awesome lines! And with his little smirk there you totally know that he's milliseconds away from making a smart arse remark

Thanks. I'm getting pretty good at visualizing speed-trails after 9 issues of Kid Quick zipping around in The Uniques.

You need to be working on the Flash, I think... works perfectly for the book. Maybe more Wally or Bart than Barry, but hey, a kick @$$ flash, is a kick @$$ flash!

That's fine by me - I'm more of a Wally guy, anyway. And if I was drawing Barry, I'd approach it differently. A little less sleek, a little less "cool," but more classically heroic. But that's the hard thing with masculine speedsters-- how do you make somebody look powerful and broad when those shapes tend to feel static? Liquid, curving lines have more movement, but feel more feminine! It's a conundrum.

Glad you dug it. And yeah, if you know how to work a pencil and can work clean enough, you don't need ink. Well... there are SOME things you need ink for, but I do my best.

That's the hardest part - getting the sense of MOVEMENT! But what's Flash without motion?

Glad you like. He's one of my favorite characters (Wally, that is), but I rarely get to draw him.
