Commission from Summit City Con 2011; Copic marker, ink, white paint pen.Isn't she cute? Sorry, I love this character but she'll always be a little sister to me. I just want to pinch her cheeks every time I draw her. Also: Lockheed. This one was a lot of fun to do.
Not the best picture of the sketch, please bear in mind that the only way I get copies of these con drawings is by snapping a picture with my old digital camera. So they often get skewed and the details are rarely sharp.

really digging this pic, and not just because of the characters! really great lines and fantastic work with the markers! personally, i am utter crap with markers, and i amazes me to see what people can do with them. i love Kitty's expression, like she's trying to be sneaky, countered with Lockheed and his face. SUCH a Lockheed face.

Thanks a lot. Kitty's a great character for me, because I love the ones who are right down the line between serious and cute. She wants so badly to be respectable and hardcore, but can't help that she's also got so many adorable tendencies.

I loved the shiny details on her and big eyes that add even more cuteness to the whole thing.
And the colors are beautiful too, I have a thing for pale colors so...FAVE!

It's actually done all in gray tones. I use warm gray markers and cool gray markers, and the mixture of the two create the illusion of pale color when all I have to do is focus on contrast and lighting. Plus, it's far, FAR cheaper than stocking a whole variety of color markers.

Yeah, pretty much. I'll occasionally add a spot color or something, but when I'm using markers I'm using 99% gray. And I can't take any credit - I stole the idea from , the marker master.

Saw the pic and first thing to pop out was "Wow, I like this!". Took a second to look at it more closely - liked it even more but only minor quibble is her nose might be just a tad too big. Still a Favorite!

Ah, Kitty is one of my favorites and I love the way this one came out. As much as the whole "Kitty phasing through a wall" has become sort of a standard pose for her, something about the slightly askew angle here really makes it look, IMO, like she's coming through the wall instead of just a couple random body parts floating next to a wall the way a lot of people make t look. And the marker work here is really just top notch, especially on her uniform. The latex effect is just perfect.

I'm getting good with the shiny. Latex IS one of my favorite textures to draw. Weirdly though, my favorite part of this one is the cast-shadows on the wall. That's what makes it really look like a genuine phase effect, to me.

It's kind of surprising how well she turned out. Sometimes the wind just blows your way, I guess. I wasn't feeling anything special about it until it was pretty much done and then I was all surprised at myself.

I always thought of her as something of a stinker - mischievous and sneaky, but out of adorableness rather than being any kind of renegade. I can almost hear her snickering laughter...
