Continuing my re-designs for the Mega Man universe, here's Roll! You can read more about my thinking behind the design and my whole process at our new blog on ComfortAndAdam.com.For Roll, I designed her to be the team mechanic. She helps Dr. Light build the robots, and does maintenance and upkeep on Mega Man. I wanted her to be scrappy, cute, and fun, and now I really kind of want her to have her own Mega-armor...
Edit: I added Mega Armor Roll! I used the color scheme from Rock's MM2 "support" weapons, since Roll was already defined by red, and doing a red/lightish red scheme (to match MM's blue/lightish blue) was way too pink. She's definitely a support/control character, and her backpack would be full of gear she can use for different situations. She doesn't have the DPS power of MM (thus her smaller gauntlets) but has a lot of versatility.

No plans. I wasn't big on B&T, especially the way they took over the fandom, but mostly because my favorite MM games were the first 4. I'm focusing on my favorite stuff first, and we'll see what I do later.

Thinking in terms of an RPG, she's definitely an excellent Support character in this version. Though I suppose she could still take on some DPS or Tanking aspects if she was able to acquire powers/abilities like MegaMan does. That'd make for some interesting designs as well.

I'm not sure if she'd have Mega Man's copying abilities, but I'd want her to have something distinctly hers. Maybe she can replicate other kinds of abilities - something from either other enemy types or something entirely else. Glad you like seeing her armored up!

Well I wouldn't see her copying the same things MegaMan does, but other aspects that would fit in with a support role and that gives her some variability. Similar to say some of the character types you can pick in the MMOs out there, such as the Trooper in Star Wars: The Old Republic, who can become a Vanguard or an Commando, and either lean towards healing, or towards more tanking, damage dealing abilities (and you can change up which option they use anytime you like within that sub-class you have chosen). Like say MegaMan gets Leaf Shield from Wood Man, but she gains Regen Beam, an eco-blast that restores a portion of energy to her target. Things along those lines, ya know?

Okay, that's a pretty groovy redesign. I can appreciate the aesthetics and the idea of Roll shifting to a more direct "helper..." uh... role. Plus, that's a pretty cute outfit!

Sort of, yeah. I just really wanted her to have a more substantive *ahem* role in the cast as opposed to being a little girl in a dress who cooks and cleans, which... ech.

Her version in the Ruby-Spears cartoon was one of Mega Man's sidekicks, which was a definite upgrade from the original.
