Description
This is a convention sketch I did for a guy at the Comic Geek Speak Super Show. Normally I don't get decent scans of these, but this fellow pre-ordered his drawing and I managed to actually get it done before the show, and thus had it scanned all nice and neat at my house. As it so happens, this is the best Power Girl I've ever done. I have virtually no complaints, and was actually a little sad to hand it over when the buyer came to our table. Seeing how pleased he was made it easier, though.

Zippers! Her gloves have zippers and her belt buckle is like...an eye or something. Love the attention to detail. More than just boobs in a tight costume (not that there's anything wrong with that). Those little bits just make the picture.

I'm a details kind of guy. I like to really get into the little stuff when I'm drawing.

I have a colored copy of this I bought from you and you signed at a convention a few years back. I have it hanging on my wall!

Excellent Power Girl! The thick lines round her shape really make her pop.

Yeah, that's just something I do. I like playing with line weight and using thick and thin lines to pop the image off the page. It also helps with multiple figures to pop them apart from each other. Oh, the many uses!

Yesssssss! Love it when PG's guns are popping out! I'm talkin' 'bout her arms, pervs!

Yeah, it makes me nuts when people draw her all twiggy and super-thin.

I like this but even with the all white effect, that left arm seems waaaay too short.
I'd love to see more, though.

nice! luv how u dealt with the whole negative space inside the white part of her suit. brings it out a lot and less to draw!

It was a neat effect when I tried it on my Madame Mirage drawing, and I like it just as much here. You can't do it often, but when you can it's neat.

Real cool idea, and good use of negative space. Fucking nice execution my man

But it does look awesome.

It's Power Girl! She's one of the few characters you can go wild with and have it still be fitting for the character.

Well, you certainly got that aspect of her.

I'm not a huge Power Girl fan, and like the art I've seen of her out there even less, but I really, really like your sketch! Very cool!

Too many guys get caught in the cleavage and never leave. What I love about PG is her personality and attitude, and has nothing to do with her figure. I always try and bring as much heart to drawings of her as I do her 'look.'

This really is a beautiful drawing of PowerGirl Adam. Seriously, one of your best, and this is from a guy that has seen most of your best.

I really like the pose, but it seems here arms length is shorter than it should be, even with the foreshortening effect!!!
It's cool to see your stuff here again!

AdamWithers In reply to SpiderGuile [2008-09-16 17:12:32 +0000 UTC]
That's the danger of the 'all white' effect in the costume - it's hard to show the kind of details in the arm that would give you a full sense of the foreshortening going on.

The detail on the face and accessories make up for that.
I really like the face. Photo realistic but very fun and cartoony.

Maybe. Someday. When I've got time. Which I don't. I'd like to, though...

Though? Well I understand you having limited time. I mean you have to think about bills and other things your already committed to. None the less it would be awesome to see colored.
