Description
This is my First Tutorial, I hope that it is clear in its instructions. LOL.I have learnt a lot thought the tutorials available on deviant and wanted to be able to return the Favour and encourage others to try new techniques. I use Photoshop CS3, but this tutorial can be used in older or recent versions of the program.
I created this tutorial because I have realised the importance of adding detail to an artwork or deviation to be able to give it a greater depth or realistic feel. This is a tutorial showing you how to create a shadow for a person or an object, so that they all blend and tie together with your backgrounds.

The background that was used is not stock, I gained permission from the artist Gary Tonge to use his work in this manipulation. your tutorial is awesome! thanks for that. heres the problem im running into though.....what do u do when the light source isnt directly behind the subject. on the piece im working on, the subject is lighted from the side and i CANNOT get the shadow right to save the life of me. you wouldnt happen to have any pointers for this would u? it would be sooooooo appreciated. im still a noob. haha

Hmmmnn, there are a number of ways that you can fix your light source and create the shadows you desire, but you will have to experiment with the suggestions I give you to see what suits best and what needs to be tinkered with.
Actually I think it would be best for me to create you a tutorial. I will do that for you today and have it posted for you tonight. How dose that sound?
