Description
Since I've drawn the good, fun side of being out on the sea, I thought it would be time to balance it out a bit. After all, they are always living on the edge. The dark side of mother nature. A fisherman's nightmare.
Part of my series on crabfishing:
Donβt Let Go
Fisherman
Tanner Taxi
Pencils 2H to 3B, size A3, took me roughly a week. Finished 17. december 2008. Mostly freehand, own ref's for the guy's clothes and hands.

I do know what it is like to stand on that dangerous precipice more so than a lot of other people.
I have to add this to my gallery. While it does not speak in words, the image it captures is heartbreaking yet breathtaking at the same time. The courage and strength it takes to wake up every morning and not give up, to know that someone will stand beside you, is a hard thing. To do so makes any one stronger.
Thank you.

I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I truly enjoyed your long and positive comments! Always a joy to read when people really put their heart into it.
I completely agree in what you say here, and I'm glad that someone sees this dimension in the drawing.
So thank you for making me smile! (:

Whoa, the feeling on the drawing is almost feel-able!
I'm also amazed of your skills at drawing hands, perfectly well drawn and shaded. And the water... you can smell the salt! The movement is so hard to apply on a drawing like this, and you did it awesomely!

Thank you so much for these well thought of words! It means a lot to get comments that really say something about what you feel about the drawing. At least to such emotionally strong drawings as this one is suppose to be. Makes me feel like I succeded.

Thanks! I'm quite happy I've managed to get away from the "take a picture and draw excactly like it"-habit. It doesn't provide a lot of originality and challenge, and that's two important things when it comes to drawing. ^_^
