3D modeling in MayaThere are plenty of things incomplete or just plain wrong with the lighting, texturing, modeling and composition in this shot, but the whole scene is due in two weeks, and my animation isn't complete, so this is probably about as good as it's going to get.

I especially like the lamps and the glow they give. That and the misty Bayou feeling sort of reminds me of the start of the Pirates of the Carribean ride at Disneyland. It has the same kind of ambience.

nice, I think its all working pretty well with the exception of the trees on the left, especially the closer ones. The trees feel unnatural to me, like they are too simple/not organic like trees should be. Other than that, i like the model, the scene... all that shit.

Thank you very much. It was an amusing project. I'll have to try to post the whole animation here, without too much degradation of quality.
Yeah, I didn't put a lot of attention into those trees. I was hoping for the motion of the animation to have a diminishing effect on the unnaturalness of those trees. I don't think they're in frame long enough to have too much impact on the overall presentation... hopefully.

right on, the flash video encoder does a pretty good job of compressing the video down without taking away too much quality. If you don't have it at home, the program is on a number of the computers at school.....
speaking of which, do you have any work that you want me to add to the F.A.T.S.O.F.A.C.E. blogspot page? I really want to get some extra content up there before Platform starts.
