Description This is definitely raw and will be replaced, but I wanted to post it and get some feedback for settings, colors, etc.

Apo 3D hack render settings:

Quality: 6000
FilterR: 0.4
OverS: 2
ImageSize: 1280x768
32-bit Buffer Depth Floating Point
Used only 60mb RAM to render
2+ hours render time

--------------------------------------
Just to put myself on the right page about some settings, Filter Radius is an anti-aliasing agent, correct? Or is it a fancy word for 'blur'? What setting, if any, does FR coincide with? Is there a typically harmonious balance that should be sought, or is it per individual render, an individual setting requiring no dependencies?

My curiosity is thus: While I see many fractal renders online that have perfectly smooth curves and circles, what are the settings that some of you use to obtain that quality? I can't seem to figure out the right settings for smoother circles. It seems that cranking up the FR this time (I always use 0.2) to 0.4 added unnecessary dust and particles and maybe some blur.
Before I engage the final render, I always check in the main window with a Quality of 4000, but this time it did not turn out just like the display render.

Just by looking at this preview, what advice do you all have for a better render?
If you would like the .flame to test, please send me a note requesting such. THAnks.

Thanks!

It's a work in progress. I am far from done with that piece.

Nope. Stupidly, I decided to not attend college right out of high school. Now I want nothing more than to go to college.

No money. Pure laziness. Doesn't mean I don't want to though.

Personally I've found that jacking the quality up to 10000 or so makes those jagged circles a bit better, and I put my filter radius by default on .72

On the render screen check the Postprocess render box before rendering. Once the fractal is done rendering, you can still change the gamma, brightness, filter radius, contrast and vibrancy without having to re-render, its wonderful for getting that extra bit of tweakage in your fractals
