"Third rate villains? That little man just diggin' his own grave!" the Wrecker says as the Crew look for me, while I hide behind Cap's shield.
I mentioned to Ping that among my favorite superheros and supervillains was Captain America and the Wrecking Crew. I was pleasantly surprised when he included me in the illustration. I have this thing for third-rate supervillains, and the Crew certainly fit that description.

That was a pleasant surprise by Ping. I thought he'd just do the Crew in a static pose. But he went all out to personalize it. I wish I knew more artists like him.

True. I ink my own stuff and I know when pencils are'nt good its hard to ink good. And the other hand is a good inker can make my work look like travis charest quality. Inkers don't get enough credit.

Amen. I just complete something of a tirade about how I've been underrated, undervalued and underappreciated as an inker in 18 years and 80 published credits. "Shaddap an' ink" was what I usually heard.

The Wrecking Crew is really kind of cool in a way, as they were originally given their powers with the help of Loki to take on Thor, of all people! They just lack the brains needed to pull it off (I think the man with the ball and chain is actually the smartest one in the quartet).

I was at B-More Comic-Con too. I was at the Azure Press table with the director and actors of "Ninjas vs Zombies".
True, Thunderball is the brains of the group, which has never set well with the Wrecker. However, for a scientist who's only claim to fame was miniaturizing the gamma bomb, he went down just as easily as the rest of his crewmates. As far as other favorite third-rate Marvel villains, they are Batroc, Equinox, Firebrand, Flag-Smasher, Gladiator, Killer Shrike, the Shocker, Scorpio, Taskmaster, Titanium Man, Unicorn and the Wrecker led by Colonel Gideon Mace.

Against the Wrecking Crew, a division should do it. They're Asgardian-enhanced, but only one of them has high intelligence (Thunderball), the other three are maulers and brawlers.

I do miss hanging with those who wanted to hang, but I got beyond tired of running CARC & 'SLIDE pages for maybe 50 views (out of a possible 375), a handful of faves, and a double-handful of comments. You were among the few who kept the faith. Heck, when I was branded a Nazi (guilt by association), my reply was "it's nice to belong".

Furdom IS divided. But not divided enough to where there's rioting at furry conventions. And when I mean divided, I mean one side HATES the other side. Liberals hate conservatives. Gays hate straights. No-gun owners hate gun owners. Artgods hate artists they deem "not name enough". Greedy, opportunist fans hate artists who won't give away the store. Utopians HATE anyone who doesn't adore their beloved furdom with the fevor...flames of insanity as they do.

Nar. The best case in point would be the saga of Allan "Lupine Assassin" Greemwald. He's considered a major villain in furdom. At last year and this year's AnthroCon, there was repeated and numerous discussion by members of FA about "dealing" with Allan. However, in both events, Allan was unscathed. I think outside of one person saying bad things to him, no one attacked him. Even Dragoneer had a "polite conversation" with him (he claimed he didn't want to ruin the spirit of the convention). As long as some furfen have the safety of hiding behind code-names, they're continue to carry on as is.
