A commission from 2006, done for ~akai-no-akuma , featuring her mer-character Ahura thinking about his human friend Neri. Merfolk are a lot of fun to draw! I haven't done an underwater scene in a while, it was a nice change of pace. I like the bubbles. ^__^Characters Β©~akai-no-akuma

Well I do have to say, kudos to you for the water...and the pose. This is really good as is all your work.
I like the movement of this picture though. You sort of follow up his tail, body then to the big bubble. Anyhoo, awesome job.

Water is hard. x_X;; I find underwater is easier than surface water, though..no ripples and reflections and distortion to worry about. Just have to stick with one color scheme. The light source tends to spread itself around rather than focus on one point, also, and soften shadows. Wish you the best with your piece!
