Wow, this is old. It seems all of my more adventurous artwork came from 2003... ^__^; I'll try to be more spontaneous like this again, I promise!But anyway, I needed something random to practice my Prismacolor pencils on back then, and this was the result. I chose darker, moth-like colors because I didn't want your average bright-pink-happy fairy.
Gave the original of this to Brian Froud when I first met him at FaerieWorlds!

Wow that's with Prismacolor pencil crayons?!?? You did a wonderful job!! Since I really don't have a digital coloring computer program like Photoshop,etc. the only thing I have for colored pics is my pencil crayons. You like so many of the artists here and Elfwood have inspired me for my character drawings!! I have always been an artist but more practical stuff and now I hope to develop my character/fantasy art. It's my dream to work in animation/Disney/Dreamworks kinda of places as well as become a writer. Fantasy of course!

I REALLY adore your colours. I love how you let the textures of the papers and the pencil colours come through. Its really quite outstanding. The detail in the wings is gorgeous, and I adore the overall composition. The inclusion of the flowers was done exactly right! The purples REALLY liven this piece, too. I'm quite glad you decided to include them :3
I really love the patterns in her skin in particular. They look really awesome, I love those spots! I really love the way you drew her legs. My only anatomical crit is about her face. it looks quite squished ( all the features seem to take up a lot of the face, I would have extended the shape of her face just around her jawline to make it feel a little less suished :3 )
The wings, once again, are really gorgeous. I LOVE the shapes and patterns of them. They look really amazing together and the overall greens are gorgeous. I love how you varied the hues throughout the shading-lovely work!

This has a very Amy Brown-ish feel to it. I really like how you've drawn this, how she seems so mischevious. I also very much like the color scheme and how you've put in those purple flowers in there, nice contrast.

Nothing special..I have a really old scanner I bought from my dad, I don't even know the brand name, and I use Photoshop to run the scan. Photoshop works with any type of scanning software, far as I know. I scan at 300dpi, color, and that's it.

I love the expression, I love the subtle tones, and your coloring is to die for. I have to say that my absolute favorite part of this picture is that incredible mottling on her feet, shoulders, and butt. It just makes me wriggle for the texture of it. My compliments to the artiste!

I got some prisma colors for Christmas... and I just wanted to know... What's the difference between these colored pencils and others? I hear so much about them, but I admittedly have not yet taken the time to explore them. Are they really so much better?

I just love the unconventional faeries that are done without the usual human+butterfly look. She's soo cute and she looks absolutely mischevious, like one of those little fae you come across in a meadow that'll steal your hat and fly off with it and once you've finally chased it down your hat's cut to shreds! Heehee....too cute!

wonderful to see the solid pencil work! since i am only wasting my time in those digital graphic programs i wish more and more to go back to the paper and to take a pencil in my hand. The wings are wonderful. good work. very much patience here, not?
