What a sad little story. It kind of reminds me of the book "The Giving Tree" where a tree and a young boy form a bondΒ but he grows up and doesn't spend time with her anymore so she gives everything she has to him.

I've always been curious if Faeren's spirit was taken into the forest and his body remained on the battlefield or if she somehow managed to gather his body as well?
But this is one of my faves of Faeren

He was physically taken--she used the energy of the Forest to heal him, and as a result, he can only survive when he is among trees and plants. Over the years it is slowly transforming him into a part of the forest, and he can live nowhere else.

After all deviations iΒ΄ve seen here on deviantart, this is truly the best ive ever seen.
It give me such an impression i could not describe in a million words. It tells so many stories and raises so many questions. Its impossible and simultanously so natural. Its incomplete and perfect at the same time. Its silent and spirited. Its perfection.
This Picture is like a storybook without any words. But in spite of this, you could read a thousand stories in it.
I could look at it for hours and it wouldnΒ΄t be wasted hours.
