This really stands out in the midst of your other work, seems nothing special compared with the rest of them, but instantly catches the eye...
Even thou I cannot guess the sex of the character I find it very good in mood/climate and execution...

It's amazing (there you have it) what one can do with a pencil ... the emotions are so tangible! (Btw is it only me or does he look like a kid somehow? 'cause I don't think he is one, from what I've read so far)

The way he glares is like; "Step away. It's my book. Mine. Mine I tell you, mine!"
The way he holds it seems very protecting, like it's something fragile. Love the lighting, really powerful. His expression reminds me of a friend of mine when someone threatens her harry Potter books. She would grab them in that way, as if to protect them, in a "Don't-you-dare"-sort of way.
As always your anatomy is spotless, and your hands are perfect. i want to draw hands like that
