Description
"From the moment he had come to this world she knew of him, perhaps even before, and forever after. She knew the burdens of his heart and how his thoughts seemed not to be thoughts but riddles planted in his consciousness like so many weeds. How she loved him for his pain, it consumed her, those memories of his that she remembered and he did not. In him would be a revelation of her memories, she knew, but she would not speak of those things. She would not speak of anything. She could not. An interdiction beyond life had come upon her. She was silent. But the wind... the wind could whisper his name for her."
My entry for Delurianne's art contest back in 2007, featuring characters from her haunting and captivating story "The Cradle of Whispers". She is not only a talented artist, but an amazing writer as well! I can't possibly do her characters justice, but this is my interpretation of Isobel and the ghostly Elessario. The thorns and flowers symbolize not only the differences in their characters, but also the hardships and rewards Isobel experiences throughout his unusual lifetime. The birds represent fleeting memories and freedom.
I also played with a vague "hidden image" of sorts within the linework, since Isobel is known as a Dragon Lord. If you look closely, you might be able to see a dragon's head and neck in the forest, and the rest of its body and wings suggested by the characters' positions and clothing. This may help: [link]

The amount of detail you put into your pencil work is just insane. All the little twists and curves and hidden details there...just...I admire your patience for it all. <=]

No, please do not color this or use it for your book. It illustrates specific characters belonging to a friend of mine and her own book.

Hee ^__^ I've seen this one before. I still like the dragon hidden image (yes, I spotted it a bit before clicking on the link), and find it a tad annoying to see some people comment one after another saying the same thing. It made you repeat yourself just as many times. Although I believe it would look beautiful if you colored it like you have colored your other pieces, I can see why you choose to leave it as the lines when the hidden image is seen in it.

I'm so far behind on commenting that I honestly cannot remember what I have and haven't commented on.
The amount of detail you work into your wooded scenes never fails to inspire awe. I love the hidden dragon so much, I can't even say.
Also, I love that intense, burning expression on his face. So beautiful!

I can imagine these comments really disappoint you
I saw in the glimpse I gave the drawing before reading the comment that there could be seen images in the forest, so I decided to look for them for fun after reading the comment. I thought it was quite funny to read that what I had already seen ^^ I immediately saw the head thus the body I hadsome troubles with, even with the lines. it is because the pose of the dragon was not what I expected. but like shiaine said, you did it perfectly once you see it. I hope you took the time to read this positive comment and see it as a good thing

How exsactly do you do that? Do you plan that before hand or did it come afterwards and you kinda picked it? @____@

I planned it as I was sketching it out. It didn't turn out exactly like I wanted in the end, but I'm happy with the result.

Please don't, this is a contest entry. Also, it's meant to be a finished pencil lineart. If it were shaded or colored, the hidden image wouldn't work.
