Description I did fanart!? You should put on a helmet, the sky may be falling.

So yes, this is Odin Sphere fanart. I finally beat the game recently after having taken a break from playing for quite some time. I was actually on the Armageddon book too, so I was basically right there at the end. So, I finally opened it up, and beat the final bosses(in the correct order, of course) and watched the awesome ending. After that, I thought to myself "If ever there was a game more beautiful than this, I've yet to see it."

So, it inspired me to put this together. Now this actually started as something else entirely, but that failed to please me, so I separated this piece from the rest. Then, about halfway through this, I decided I didn't like the outcome and scrapped it. Took several hours away from the computer, and decided to try again from the beginning. I found myself a new brush and managed to alter my style just enough to enjoy the result this time! So after a full day of failure, I managed to not only complete the picture, but refine my style while I was at it.

Minor SPOILERS:

If you've beaten the game you probably know where I came up with this image. It's Oswald and Gwendolyn after Ragnarok where the world is revived. That scene was just so stunning, I couldn't help but attempt to draw it in my own way. Granted, mine isn't a hundredth as gorgeous.

Heh, I was the same way. I actually took the time to get every bad ending after this just to see the short extras in the "true ending." XD

Thanks, glad you like it!

You probably don't know me but I remember reading through a thread on teh gaming forum and you were ranting about how awesome Odin Sphere was After research I got it and damn were you right! Sooo pretty - prettier than quite a few new games - and great english voices. Maybe it was a tad repetitive but it's only getting annoying now when I'm half-way through Velvet.

Yeah, I think that's around when I started feeling the repetition too, but just wait til you get to her epilogue, that boss fight is quite a surprise, not to mention some kind of artistic genius. =3

Oooh, I'm exited now! No spoilers plz, I love my video game surprises

Btw, read your journal - I played that Valkyria(?) demo, loved that opening animation thing >:3 PS3 finally seems to be getting great games. Kinda makes me sad for the PS2 'cus all the games are vanishing, at least in the UK. Can't find Persona 3 anywhere and I'm not even sure if 4 will ever come to us PAL territories

Yeah, the thing is Atlus doesn't have a European branch, so someone else has to perform the publishing for their games to reach PAL. That's why P3 took so long, and why there isn't a date for P4 yet.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade comes out in 09 everywhere though. If it's as great as Odin Sphere, then I'll have to become a loyal follower of Vanillaware, haha.

Oh yes, that's why my copy has a big fat "Square Enix" on it xD Curse you Atlus! Your games look so awesome but are so hard to get Us PAL people are always treated as second citizens, why do they even have regions?

Pah! Wii exclusive ¬¬ Until that console gets a hdmi or something (like a library of epic games I actually want) I shall always think of it as a PS2 with motion control tacked on!

I think Wii was a solid choice. Hopefully the popularity of the console can get some attention to the game, and possibly even increase our chances of getting the PSP Princess Crown outside of Japan(Though PSP is region free, I'm thinking of importing it XD).

Unless you have a good understanding of japanese I wouldn't recommend it. I tried playing Jump Ultimate Stars on my DS and I couldn't get past the tutorial Not to mention other attemps, plus you'll miss out on all the story.

wow, really beautiful .. I don't know the setting but glad it inspired you to create this.
You've captured that feel of intimacy through accomplishment those characters must have.

Highly recommend the game, Vanillaware proves with each new game that 2-D is still awesome.

Glad it could get the message across, though. I like to think I did the game justice, heh.
