they could be plenty of things, from a boring Flying type, to Electric or Fire (if the firefly part was more prominently made use of in the design) and Fairy. MAybe they're holding out for some other future type that no one is thinking of

Holding out is the word. As much as I want to see something similar to the Cyber type become reality I think they might want to lay it low with adding new types to the game after the whole fairy type controversy.
