Updated version: www.deviantart.com/adeptcharon…My gen8 take on Rubber as a Pokemon type, showcasing existing Pokemon that would be potential candidates for being retyped, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the type.
Other names I've considered: Plastic, Elastic, Gummy, Amorphous
Still unsure if Rubber is the best option.

Ok I’m just going to point out that things don’t have to be made of rubber or be elastic to wrap, bind,constrict or wrong out things as well as the only thing that is needed to be able to coil is a long body(it is probably only poison type because the original snake Pokémon is poison type) while any living thing can slam or body slam a target, glare is literally just that glaring there is nothing special to it for it to be anything but normal, octozooka is shooting a liquid which is why it is water type, recover is basically just healing magic (I honestly just think it should be fairy type), lick was originally only for ghost types so there is some supernatural thing involved with it, defence curl well you may have seen well any movie where a character is being ganged up on the character will curl up defensively there is nothing to suggest that it relates to rubber it is just taking away places that can be hit, now stockpile, swallow and spit up a lot of animals stockpile food it isn’t that special and swallowing food is something everyone who isn’t a non carnivorous plant does as well as everyone is capable of spitting, crush grip well anything that is big enough can crush you in it’s grip, and pain split I honestly think it should be a psychic type move and I honestly don’t know why it is normal type, minimize a direct quote from the move description: the user compresses it’s body to make itself LOOK smaller: again by crouching a person like you and me can compress their body to make themselves look smaller it something anyone can do, now with transform it is normal type because it is Ditto’s signature move and Ditto is normal type because it is basically a blank slate, bounce maybe fits I’m not entirely sure it’s probably flying type because the other moves that go into the sky(fly and sky drop I don’t know any others) are that type, bide I don’t know but with camouflage that move is average for a chameleon which it what Kecleon is and it doesn’t involve anything to do with rubber, and bide...not sure on that one
The only move I definitely agree with you on is power whip as well as this type in general as it doesn’t really overlay with other canon types and could properly fill out a spot though I think it would have to have it’s own new Pokémon though rather than taking from the original ones or at least not this many existing Pokémon because if you look at what gamefreak did with the fairy type they made mostly new Pokémon for it and only took a select few from the existing Pokémon and two things in particular, 1 frilish and jellicent are based off of the ghost jellyfish you kind of have to take what the Pokémon is based on into account before changing anything and 2 many of the moves mentioned are normal type because generally they are actions that are not really unique to one type for example headbutt and zen headbutt one of these is psychic type because it has psychic energy put into it the other is normal type because in reality anyone could headbutt someone else it doesn’t require any special skill or power to do and it is the same for all the moves that involve squeezing the target there is no skill or special power involved so it is normal type and when you look at hyper beam it is just a powerful beam with nothing else involved.
(Side note most of the moves on you retcon list are normal type honestly moves for a new type should mostly be new themselves and the main problem I have here is that you are taking a ton of canon Pokémon and moves and deciding they should be your type without thinking about what RUBBER type would actually mean which would most likely mean that if a move or Pokémon is that type then it would involve stretching and springing back like an elastic band,something that can flex and stretch out of it’s normal shape but then snap right back to the original shape that would be why the rubber type would fit it not because it can be smushed and squeezed but because it is flexible.

I love the idea of giving different forms different typing it makes sense as if they were separated and had to adapt

Ok, I get that poorly defined types already exist, but if we were to take the Rubber typing (elastic seems more fitting to me based on the description you’ve given) then I still feel like it wouldn’t apply as much to some of those you’ve given it to. Like, I don’t feel serpentine Pokemon should get given the typing just because they can construct opponents, nor would I give it to the others I previously mentioned. I can def see it going to Swalot or tangrowth and some of the others, but don’t think being a snake or having constricting tentacles or vines alone should place one in its remit 🤔
