As Stewart began to gleefully type his note to the boss that would see Rachael fired and possibly struggle to work again, he became aware of a slight movement in the corner of his left eye. Too late, the office manager went to turn round. The young and vengeful woman launched herself at the man with a feline-like speed and fury. She seized Stewart by the neck with one arm, while she tried to bring the other, held back slightly by the incongruously swinging handcuff hanging from her wrist, to join it and put her foe in a neck hold.
Stewart was taken aback by the assault but tried to free himself. “Get off me, you mad witch!” he managed to cry out as Rachael grappled him towards the floor. Her initial energy abating slightly the woman, smaller than her opponent tried to persuade the man to surrender. “Give it up, Stewart!” she replied, grunting with the exertion of trying to overpower the man who was now attempting to stand. “Your crooked scam is over and I’m putting you under citizen’s arrest!”
Stewart tumbled from his chair, bringing his clinging female assailant with him. “You must be joking!” he gasped in a choking voice.
