I am really digging the design of this dude. I would have never thought of putting the octopus tentacles as dreadlocks. not only that but this is a really well done muilti media. are you using water colors for the background? Or is that an image you found? and is that India ink on the sides?

Such flattery, but I must confess I don't deserve most of it. The background is actually an image I modified. While it's watercolours, it's not mine. The 'inl' however, like the rest of the picture, is actually digital! At least I think so, haha, I can't rightly remember! The design, (and I'm glad you like it) is on the other hand something I fully take the credit for. Tentacle dreadlocks and all! I didn't even steal the idea, though I guess noone who's seen PotC 2 will believe me!

oh that's cool I really like the way that you integrated the digital artwork with the watercolor. that is truly a unique idea. not only the PotC 2 really I didn't read that as dreadlocks it was just something random that looked cool. this actually looks like dreads which I like a lot.

Ah, I see. Alright. So that's the actual octopus in question.
Smooth design, all in all. As usual, I'm going to swing a shovel around in a disgruntled fashion becuse of the lack of shading, but otherwise, it's cool. For some reason, I dig the water ripple outline, even though it's mostly a suggestion of actual surface. Though maybe that's why it works, come to think of it.
Now, back to the shading, because I have an aversion to dropping a subject, evidently. I can't help but feel that adding brighter areas, just to the top areas, would bring this out a lot and obviously add dimension. Not a lot of shine, just... hm, think along the lines of the Nossie's latex suit from the vampire thing. You can see my train of though, right?
I don't like belaboring the point, so... actually, I do. Shade it.

It requires little, there's information on their site that I suggest you read. There's a dangerous ammount of fangirlism in the air though, so don the HEV suit.
But all in all, yeah, it's fun!

Ahah, I'm glad you thought of it, that means you get the special prize! In this case it's not just five dollah, it's a picture of Cai showing off his inky goodness. He can spit ink, yah.
But when his body starts storing up on it he's prone to occasional inky coughing fits. Sort of like hairballs, only much slimier. The girls do not love it.

I would have sent my octopusboy in a long time ago, but things happened that forced me away for some time, and when I got back it took me a while to regain my inspiration - But it turned out pretty well anyway and I'm glad I still managed to go first with the idea.
