Leather and green suede cloth, I burned and painted the pattern into the front of the vest.

how exactly did you burn the design onto it?
your vest has a metal/armor look to it and I thought it would be good for the armor for my Ashe cosplay when I make it.
I don't want to make it out of craft foam or anything heavy, it might break/crack/wont be able to walk in or just fall apart in general xD
so yeah I just wanted to know how you did Balthier's vest exactly

The front is a leather which I burned using a burn tool and then painted using green, gold, and black acrylic paints. I'm guessing the armor-y part that you're looking at is the bit over my shoulder? That's actually craft foam because I ran out of leather. XD I sealed it with acrylic matte-medium and spray fixative, then painted with the goldish color and black, then matte-mediumed and spray-fixatived it again.

Indeed I did! It's insulation foam carved with a dremel tool and coated with bondo wood sealer, details done in crayola model magic. XDDD
