Description And now something completely different. This pattern is based on my (now quite popular ) celtic knot design "Tree of life" .

I think, that this circuit board pattern would be a bit better with background, but I had no idea how it should look like.

EDIT: T-shirts with this design are now available in my Spreadshirt shop!

I am willing to pay top price if i could get this on a canvas

Well, that's doable. I would have to upload a high resolution version, then you should be able to order a print on canvas from dA. Is black tree on white background ok, or do you prefer some other combination?

NICE!
It would be cool if your signature has been incorporated into the drawing.

How fast you would like to get the t-shirt? If you have 2-3 weeks, I can upload the design to my Spreadshirt shop. If that's ok for you, please let me know what colors would be most suitable for you.

Of course you can! Though if you post a photo of it, I would be happy for crediting my work (and sending me a link of the pic).

Hm... Perhaps make the lines silver/grey or gold and put them against a green background? A lot of circuit boards, after all, are green.

But this is really cool!

Mh gold on green is a bit old school, isn't it? I would rather suggest silver on dark gray. Because the nostalgic green platine color is making, at least me, sick.

It's not really that old school. I mean, while circuit boards can be made and printed in just about any color under the sun, 'circuit board green' is still one of the standard, default colors. Of course, the conductive pathways really only come in metallic colors because they are, er, metal.

But the whole reason I suggested the green + gold look is because it is the stereotypical circuit look, and if you're going to make a tree of digital life and make it look like it's made of conductive pathways, it makes sense (to me, at least) to make it evoke the idea of a circuit board as much as possible. So why not use the stereotypical circuit look?

I don't see how just a color can make you sick, though.

I simply don't like green and I think boards with that stereotype green are ugly. But of course that has no impact on the function.

Ok, maybe I used a wrong expression, now as you wrote I would prefer to call it "stereotype", too, instead of old school.

Well, that's fair enough! Green is my favorite color, so we're just going to be opposites there.

Though actually, to be honest, I prefer black circuit boards, as far as looks go, especially when they have lots of parts on them. They look like little cities, with roads and dozens of resistor houses and capacitor water towers and large chips, sprawled across like giant office parks.

V__V I am such a dork. Sorry.

Well, actually, I don't like the color green, but I still love plants and trees and that. It's just the color itself I don't like. Doesn't even has to be "don't like", maybe just "like less than all other colors".

Yes, that's kind of the way I looked at the circuit boards when I was a child. I saw huge factories and industrial complexes... I spend a lot of time just gazing at such stuff.

I would also like black as the board color, but the absolute black is a bit boring, so a very dark grey would be more interesting in my opinion.

No need to be sorry.

Understandable. I am likewise not as fond of yellow, usually, compared to other colors.

But even if it's a little disappointing to learn, when you grow up, that no, this is not a small city, it's still fun to imagine. Circuit boards are fascinating that way.

Perhaps!

And who is to say that they aren't all the same tree?

Very nice. I'm curious how you did it?

I placed the "Tree of life" in the background and on the layer above I made every path using Pen tool, one by one (with snapping to grid and preserving 45˚ and 90˚ angles, of course). After finishing the left side, I just mirrored it on the right side. Time-consuming but simple.

Oh this is VERY cool. I love the juxtaposition of the very old-world/fantasy concept of the "tree of life" and the high-tech circuit-board look.

Now you just have to get an engineer to design a circuit board that looks like this, that also does something.
