Thankyou very much for this tutorial. I love finding out little things that inkscape can do. I used to lament not being able to afford illustrator, but as time goes on, Im loving inkscape a lot more.

I have a problem with the font you required for this tutorial, I installed it as instructed but it doesn't seem to appear in Inkscape. It can be used in Wordpad, which gave me an idea of importing it from Wordpad to Inkscape but it won't let me. So I kinda need your help on how to use the font in Inkscape, I also opened a new window of Inkscape but it still doesn't help at all.

After installing the font you have to restart Inkscape (i.e. close all Inkscape windows and start the program again).

If it still doesn't work, please check this section of Inkscape wiki for solutions.

I need help with the blurring part because I set it to 3.0 and then I can't read any of it.

Before you add blur, you have to duplicate the design. Set the blur just after duplicating (when only one copy of the design is selected). The original copy will be sharp, and your copy will create the aura effect.

Thanks so much! I need to remake my magic circle though I saved it but it saved as a link and all it is is one of the edges.

Nice work.

Do you know you can use the File > Document Properties dialog to change the background colour from transparent to black to save you from having to make a background rectangle?

Yeah, I forgot about it.
