Description
I kind of wish I didn't have to pick between traditional and digital for this (aren't things like Anatomy and Perspective kind of useful in both?) but I went with Traditional since that's what I do.Pose is in the gallery here:
You can find more perspective and foreshortening poses in my gallery in this folder !
Pardon spelling mistakes and general rambling. I promised *shuu-bunni I'd make one of these.
DON'T FEAR THE FORESHORTENING! ATTACK IT WITH VIGOR!

Well then I'm glad your trying to do something about it. I guess I got lucky with my schools being very art-oriented.

Man, it's funny, I was going through this gallery JUST THIS MORNING and going, "Man, I hope she does a foreshortening tutorial in the style of the Learning To See tut, that would be a lifesaver..." And lo and behold I come back to this in my inbox. WELL THEN. \o/
Thank you so much for being clear, understandable, and easy to follow in your explanations! If you ever held a real life class on art I'd totes be there. (If you were in my area anyway, haha. )

This was really helpful and easy to understand!^ ^
It has a lot of good tips and really opened my eyes.
Sometimes when I try different poses I get really stuck and don't know why it won't work out. I mean, I draw out the limbs an torso but they never look right. This was a real eye-opener!: D

It's the SAME thing. Stop thinking of them as arms and just look at the shape. Look at how big it is compared to other things and look where things start and stop in horizontal and vertical relationships. YOU CAN DO IT. Start here: [link]

It's so hard because your brain is like "THIS IS AN ARM! WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE A SAUSAGE?!"
