General art talk: This picture was colored COMPLETELY in gimp and this is the first time I've done anything like this; I'm amazed at the result!
I just wish I had a tablet for this stuff, I'm not very skilled with the mouse...Background? Er... dunno how.
Stuff you probably only get if you know neopets: Anyone recognize the characters? They're both yooyu ball players from the Altador Cup, Garven Hale (a Pirate Bori) and Tandrak Shaye (a Darigan Gelert). Me and a friend are obsessed with them and I've written several fanfiction about them.

I think the descriptions they had during earlier cups made it clearer, but this year it's kind of messed up. Darigan's Buzz suffers from it, too, everyone mistakes the poor girl for a guy (which is probably accurate, seeing how she stopped talking a while ago).

I've pondered a lot of Altador Cup pairings, but I have to say I've never even considered this one. But you know, it's not bad. Tandrak would make the most adorable uke, wouldn't he?

It's not like there's an LJ community or something for this, so I don't think there'll be that much more there.
You can't say *anything* on neo! It's one of the things that made me quit.
Other sites aren't nearly as strict (*cough* subeta *cough*), and I don't think the "poorn little children" would be harmed in any way if exposed to some mild hints at relationships between pets, be they gay or heterosexual. *shrugs* But maybe that's just me.

Agreed, they should at least allow mild stuff. Actually, they kind of have a little, for example in the most recent plot there was very obviously a relationship forming between two characters. They didn't even show them kiss or anything (they totally should have) but they definitely dropped more hints than you usually get on neo.

Characters in plots always seem to be able to do more than your average neopet in terms of romance. But I won't get my hopes up and think neo might evolve. Have you looked at the news page recently? Last time I looked it sounded exactly the same as it did years ago! They copy and paste it and change a few words or names and that's it! D= Except for the occasional plot, the site it extremely dull (though one can always make their own fun, I guess).
Though I might come back for a bit of Altador Cup fun. I do that every year. XD

Yeah, I know. But it does unlock a world of possibilities when you start developing the characters yourself. Especially the Altador Cup characters, we don't know much about them, so we can pretty much go crack-ship crazy!! XD

True, you can more or less bild a personality for the Altador Cup players.
Though it'd be fun if TNT were to build a plot around them, or a few of them at least. You get a bit of that through the articles, but those can hardly focus on each and every single player.

It's quite fun to imagine what they'd be like.
Although yeah, I would like more on them from TNT as well. All the teams have such great characters, they deserve more attention than they get.

I always go with the islanders as my team, although they are obviously not the only ones I like a lot, they're definitely my faves. Although Darigan will totally beat them as usual X3

Exactly! Their designs are cool and we do get snippets of their personality now and then, so there *could* be more!
Darigan has had bad times as well in the past, but I do hope they do well this year. I adore the color (one of my side accounts is full of Darigan Pets ā„) and the floating island is just too cool. Plus: Tandrak. Yeah, I'm a fangirl.

I've always gone with MI, cause I'm pretty much drawn to anything tropical (I really miss Hawaii, where I used to live), plus there's a lot to do there, and that's also totally where my neohome is. And I'm still celebrating from a lucky lab zap that gave me an island pet!! X3

I have a Darigan Citadel neohome to match. XD And I once zapped myself a Darigan Bori... only to accidentally zap it PINK the next day, so then I had to save up for a paint brush after all...

One should never zap a pet with an awesome color! I certainly hadn't planned to do it to Kondrak, I just clicked on him accidentally. And DAMN did I regret that mistake, Darigan had been a perfect zap. Ah well, he got his color back in the end.

I don't think so. Didn't matter though, I was still fairly new when they did the conversion, and all my pets were still basic, so, yeah, no UC pets for me.

Ah, okay, I guess it's better in some ways. At least that saved you the frustration a lot of people felt when the conversion came along.
At that point I had just painted Dotoku royal and, ridiculous as it sounds, lost my interest in neopets. *shrugs* So it didn't hit me too hard either. XD;;

I just noticed that TNT released quite a number of new colors over the last few years... the Maracite Hissi looks really cool! I really need to stop missing Hissi Day, I want another one (Dotoku used to be a Ghost Hissi before he turned all Kyrii and Royal XD).
