My second piece in my moon series. I struggled with this illustration until I added the astronauts in shadow in the the lower right foreground and it pulled the picture together. Quite pleased with the result. We have numerous solar panels dotted around the near area to the moon base. Just to give it a bit of kinetic energy I added the ships early on in the process.

The Astronauts come down from the mountain, near finishing their moon walk or hike. We are at a time where astronauts can walk and explore further on foot . They are suddenly greeted by a flyover of ships heading for the base in the near distance. The reflection coming from the solar panels shine on the astronauts giving back shadow under shaded rock.

I dont know why I called it "drift" the title just remained that way. I think it came from the graceful rushing silence of the flyover of the ships.
