Description
A piece of space art I started on 9/21/2011 while trying to make a comeback to DeviantART. I ended up taking much longer than originally planned, but here it is. I have about 6 other WIPs that are almost finished and ready to upload!In this one I wanted to make a more earthlike atmosphere which is why I decided to use an earth texture which can be found here: [link]
The colors are more saturated and the feel is more soft and round to this one because I wanted to try something new and easier on the eyes for once. I feel as though it took away from the impression of doom unfortunately since the feel is too "happy" when really it is a scene of a double catastrophe that will imminently end all of mankind. The comet was inspired by Armageddon since I had just watched the movie again, and the emanating sun because of this video that explained in detail how the sun would grow in the future and engulf half of the system before it would shrink back in the a white dwarf and possible a black hole due to its density that will have amassed by the time it runs out of fuel.

Well I did a bit of research in the past, but I don't know so much. For proof, a bunch of people commented on this deviation explaining to me about how the sun isn't massive enough to eventually become a black hole. So I had my information off. But thanks for the compliment hehe ^.^

yeah i think that is probably thrue about our sun not having enough mass to potencially hopully in a really really distant future to to start to die run out of fuel
and then collapse and become a black hole but tell me a lot of artist do great art but not neceserly acurate on their interpretetion dont u agree? keep up with the good job.

The word you're looking for is annihilation, decimation means to remove 1/10th of something.
Other than that, great piece, interesting colour usage.

Mathematically speaking yes. But the word in general means to destroy. If you check on thesaurus.com you can see that. Thanks for the input though since it is true that in a mathematical way it does mean to slow decrease.

NO! Fucking...just no. The series was awesome. Mass effects 1, 2, and 3 were crazy awesome and how your decisions had long lasting effects was just brilliant. But then that fucking ending to mass effect 3 ruined EVERYTHING. the last ten minutes of the game just screwed it all up.

Basically none of your decisions mattered in the end and it all boiled down to three choices.
Destroy ending: Red Colored explosion, mass relays destroyed, Shepard dies, Normandy crashes.
Control ending: Blue Colored explosion, mass relays destroyed, Shepard dies, Normandy crashes.
Synthesis ending: Green Colored explosion, mass relays destroyed, Shepard dies, Normandy crashes.
That's it. It was full of plot holes and bullshit.

I don't want to be unkind, but decimation means to decrease by ten percent, if you want something that is more absolute I would recommend the word annihilation (literally "to make nothing").

Mathematically speaking, your definition is correct. But decimate in a more general sense means "to destroy" which is another synonym of the annihilate. I thought so too before I choose the title, so I double checked on thesaurus.com. you can check too if you want. Thanks for the feedback though.

Obviously you have to play with the transparency of the image to make it look good on a shirt, but other than that it shouldn't be too hard to make a good design (provided you know how to make vectors).
