So Shantae, and Yooka-Laylee were successful, but Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is still in development, and people are afraid, that it might fail and Castlevania won't have it's successor be a successful franchise. And Critics and Mega Man fans are pissed that Mighty No. 9 is really a Mighty Disappointment. Yooka-Laylee is supposed to be Banjo-Kazooie's successor, Mighty No. 9 is supposed to be Mega Man's successor, and Bloodstained is supposed to be Castlevania's successor.

Not every game that's funded by Kickstarter is a total disaster, but the givings provided by Comcept and Keiji Inafune sure have stained the reputation of Kickstarter-funded games and it's gonna take another huge success to wash off the bad taste that Mighty No. 9 has left behind.

The game is being made by the guys who made Rare awesome back in the N64 days. And also, people have been pining for a new Banjo-Kazooie game for a long time, and since Rare won't deliver, those very same guys who made those games are gonna give the people this spiritual successor.
