I currently have the newest version (2019-08-12) activated with my SAI 1 license, but I don't appear to have the symmetry ruler tool anywhere, is there something I can do to get it to appear?

Hi. If you downloaded the SAI 2 tech, then Symmetry Ruler above Layers.
just above the Trash Can icon a little to the right . Looks like a Triangle sketched icon .
Press that, a drop down list will appear : at the bottom is Symmetry Ruler .
When pressed It will appear in layers.
If the dot filled that means its Active.
Double Click or tap it in Layers ; to set number of Divisions .20 max . And you can name the ruler too .

He recently added symmetry ruler drawing . Simply download the new copy. And transfer your Licence over if you had got it .

yea for now .since its not in a completed state, i assume, that once sai 2 is totally done with updates, that he may release it again,
and then ask people to buy it again.
i don't know what he will do, if the license will carry over, or not .thats up to him . but it could happen .

I went through the steps and the link provided had me purchase sai version 1 license. Now I have sai version 2 downloaded and the version 1 license, so they are not compatible. I think I might have just wasted my money? Not sure what to do at this point

i think u are okay. the link if I said it was for sai 2, then its for sai 2. it will probably say sai 1 on the form, but its for sai 2 in reality . that will confuse people, so if that is the case, then i should have made that clear in my tutorial im pretty sure i said that. but tell me which link and form you used. i think you should be okay. you just use the system id, from sai 2. and then u should be fine .

Hey, I just bought the licence and did all the steps, but how do you check if you've actually done it in sai2? the website says to click the "others" tab on the menu but I don't see it. thanks.

if you have the license file, you drag drop it into the sai 2 folder and just start sai 2.

I've already pasted the licence file into the folder, But at the bottom of the link above, it tells me to open the "others" tab and look at the version info in order to confirm that the licencing has happened.
I can't find the others tab and I can't find any other way to confirm that it worked, It might be that the confirmation is that sai doesn't tell you that "some features will be unavailable", or "you have 30 days" but I'd like to be sure.
also, this is a smaller problem, but it seems that the desktop icon doesn't work? like the sai2 symbol is just replaced with a weird computer thingy. imgur.com/qDPG6Iv

you are not wasting my time. trying to answer comments only amounts to no time at all ,
compared to time i waste playing video games like Star Citizen .

since i dont use sai 1 for a long time, i was not aware of the difference in tab names in the app .i had forgotten .
So , "OTHER" is what old Sai 1 said at the top tab.
its just how u get to the system ID. The Subject is the system id.
other or help is the object that gets us to the system ID i guess. its just tab names in either sai 1 or sai 2 depending on which version you want to get the licence for .
The ID is in the sai 2 app itself. you download the sai2 tech , then start it, look at the tabs " Help "
When you press system id tab, it will show you the system ID for your sai2....
About the Icon issue, because Sai 2 is not totally complete yet, i guess he didnt give it a icon yet, to kinda signal to people that its in alpha state or something, its still being Developed . In the comments someone figured out some way to give sai 2 app shortcut a icon. but i just left it. you can search for that info in the comments.

I have a question I only have ver.1 sai do I need to buy ver.2 licence? every time I put my ver.1 licence cert in it just says "a valid certificate has not been installed"

You will probably need a new license for Sai 2 tech . Most people have said they had to get a new license .

I wonder if there is a way to use Hexadecimal Codes with this version. I've looked around on the trial and didn't find anything. This is very important to me as I use Hex codes to match colors easier. Thanks in advance.

It was great of you to make this guide for people. I upgraded from version 1 a few weeks ago, but thankfully had no problems with their instructions on the site. I've never tired making my own texture/bristles but with this being so new and brushes being sparse I'm thinking of trying my hand at it. Your guide section for that is quite helpful. Thank you.
The new features are very exciting and there's some real improvements. If this is only really a beta still I can't wait to see what we get with the final product. I didn't realize the program was all by one guy, that's amazing. Definitely glad I supported it back when I did with version 1.

YES! It's the only feature I keep going back to Medibang Paint for. Otherwise Sai is my preferred for just about everything.
(Not text yet, mostly because I can't figure out if there's a bounding box and text wrap feature. I could just be missing it, but if it doesn't have that I'll have to go elsewhere for my text bits.)

Its been a while so i cant remember . But the price listed on the website in 5400 JPY converted to dollars is $ 48.46 . ( not including any tax ) .
