I never planned to shade it, I just figured, wth why not and lo-and-behold an hour later I have this.
I figured I should post this here now. I think I've had enough practice for one. . .Month?

Megaman Legends 3 is still in development and is nearing completion at a fast rate (Already at 25%). With the help of the fans, Capcom is helping us get what we would want in a game we wanted for 11 years. Why not contribute to the game yourself?

I'm really liking this guy, he looks pretty cool. I decided to do a fan pic (again) because I WANTED to draw him, pretty much for S&Gs and to get it out the way, I have to admit, this is the quickest pic I've made yet again.

This is frankly speaking one of the most dynamic, hotblooded, manly spirit inducing, and downright awesome pieces of art I have ever laid eyes upon.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves shall we?
The first thing to note is the shading, which is brilliant I shall say. It really brings off the feel that Barrett is riding out the flames of some mighty explosion, particularly with the streak of light upon his goggles, which also carry the effect of being goggles really well. It makes the whole picture feel dramatic and epic - the sorta thing that if animated, would have a kickass song playing in the background.
Which of course is why the impact has a full rating. Seriously, it not only grabs the attention of the viewer with the explosive background, Barrett's wild excited grin, and his hand reaching to grab the face of the next poor mook to cross his path, but drives it all home for extra effect. You really get a feel for what kind of character this guy is in a single instant.
And again, this is done really well. Each part of the picture helps elevate the quality into something am simply in awe at. It's a still image, but it feels so alive that I'm amazed by the ability needed to do so.
The only way I can fault this picture (and its because of technicality, I personally feel it doesn't bring it down any) is that the 'ride out of the inferno to kick some ass' idea is one that has been done before, and is actually quite staple in shonen anime. Though the way you've done it I'd say has its own appeal to it, mainly in the method Barrett is coming out. Most characters walk slowly to prove that it's having no effect on them. This guy isn't even giving his opponent the chance to gawk before he beats them into oblivion.
In short, it's a very well done picture, and has pretty much won his place in the heart of this Megaman fan. Very well done sir.

I do agree, it has been done before. I guess that's why I decided to do it because of the fact that the very badass pose I gave him is the badass pose people know and love heh.

Aw man, who hasn't? The cancellation is still spoken about to this day. Game sites rag on Capcom, Game Informer rags on them, they lost tons of fans/customers/suckers.

Well 1 hour to shade and another 1.5 hours to "ink" and color the base in. So I guess you can say I spent 2.5 hours on the whole thing.

Yeah, I think what took the most time was worrying about anatomy and proportions. I just said, "Screw it I'm going with my instincts" and so far it's been working out.
