Description
This is one of the new custom ship created for me by StephenHuda for the crossover quest The Lords of Ruin . It is an upgraded and updated model of the Arc Cruisers used during Killzone 3.

Following the creation of the Hasta by Thoralf-Sigurd-Vig Shipyards it was decided that effort should be put into using the frame to build another ship. Using the same idea as with the original workhorse cruiser and using that frame to create the Arc Cruisers the Triarius was to be the next generation of the Arc Cruiser line. Working together with the government ran Stahl Arms Thoralf-Sigurd-Vig shipyards got to work developing simulation and data for when they would build the new ship.

While it was possible to create a new updated Arc Cruiser right after the creation of the Hasta it was decided that it would be better served if technology was further improved in order to maintain the superiority that Arc warships offered. Luckily the wait was not too long as the final pieces of the puzzle for standard levels of Inner Sphere technology was researched and traded for during the 4SW and new weapons and Petrusite technology was in the works. This influx of data and samples allowed for Helghan models to be created and new supply lines and production centers to be established. It also allowed the Helghan Republic to develop novel and larger versions of the technology acquired.

So with the new technology and with having the Hasta in continualness production the creation of the sub-lines to create the new Triarius Arc vessels. The basic frame of the Hasta was retained along with its expansive troop carrying and deployment abilities as well. But like the Hasta these abilities were expected to be removed once the smaller more specialized Halestorm Transports were developed. Even with that the Arc Destroyer was still planned to always come equipped with the satellite network launchers, large Naval Scanner Suites, and large amounts of communication and ECM equipment same as with all Helghan Navy warship.

Like with the Hasta and every newly developed ship since the Universal transfer the biggest and most important update was the removal for the need for a pure petrusite reactor to power the ships. The development of powerful and safe Fusion Reactors allowed for a drastic reduction in the need for Petrusite on most warships. Most Warships only required some Petruiste for the warp drive to be enhanced to its greater function and range. But for the Arc ships like the Triarius and the Petrusite Lance Equipped Toxotai the use of large amounts of Petrusite was required to power the specific weapon systems that gave the ships their iconic roles.

The second greatest advantage over pre shifted ships was that the engines of the warships were replaced from the old chemical/petrusite rockets systems to new fusion drive systems. This saw a major reduction in fuel, mass and volume requirements as the new engines were much more compact. This allowed the new Arc Destroyer to have the best speed available for both its cruising and flank speeds. This made it even faster than the Hasta which was built to be twice as fast as the older ships.

The armor and structure used on the Triarius was also the most advanced kinds created once the standard levels were mastered from the Inner Sphere. The new materials being created in a capital ship grade give the Triarius the power to truly take on any current threat in space combat short of a larger dedicated warship and even then should be able to give any warship a bloody nose for its trouble.

The Triarius was also created for long range combat more than the workhorse and Hasta cruiser-destroyers. As such it follows the Arc Cruiser path of reducing the number of leach pods even further by removing them entirely. The secondary weapon systems are made up of three parts. The first is the energy weapons with laser batteries made up of all three types of Helghast Lasers to act as a point defense and for the large laser a anti dropship array. The second is the new enhanced autocannon arrays built around dealing with closer range fights by throwing out high impact rounds to anything stupid enough to get in close. The final array of secondary weapons are the newly upgraded ISA Snow LRM systems and the Stahl WASP SRMs. Built to carry multiple warheads per tube this allows the firing of larger amounts of missiles that would be expected if one just counted the tube openings. This weapon arrays are split all over the ship to give it a full 360 degree cover.

The primary weapons for the Triarius like with the older Arc cruisers are the ship based Arc Cannons. While study of the Arc weapons has continued the major improvements developed from the advanced theory and refined space weapons have given rise to a more powerful version of the Arc cannon. As such while the new Arc Cannons are more powerful than the old models they are also more refined and the housing is less exposed while being bigger to deal even more damage to targets. The simulations even point to the Triarius being able to one shot the majority of common dropships with the Arc Cannons. The Arc Cannon like with the Petrusite Lance is the only true Naval Scale weapon system available and because of the unique feature of Petrusite can bypass some of the armor of enemy targets and destroy the internal structure instead. The new Arc Destroyer also has increased the number of cannons and has moved them into better positioning for direct space combat and less focused on ground support.

In the realm of defense their has also been a new development. Along side the 850 tons of armor plating that will be upgraded as time goes on the Triarius comes with four brand new Primitive Energy Shield modules developed in secret by the Helghan government. The emitters are built in around the hull which are linked into the cores. While primitive in nature the ability to absorb all the damage from any angle and the relatively high threshold before they are overloaded means that the four give the Triarius a lot of endurance. Though this technology along with the Mk2 Arc Cannons has made the Triarius far too advanced to build at the same rate as the old models. With an expected loss of 25% per production run which will only become higher as even more new technology is added.

The final part of the Triarius is its two dock ports to carry dropships to act as support like the Hasta before it. All in all the new Arc ship is going to be the most powerful warship ever developed by the Helghan people possibly even greater than the Stahl Arms Khage battleship if not for the more advanced shields and irradiated petrusite weapons.
