Description Named because it reminded me of birds wings. I made this a few weeks ago but decided to hold onto it until now. First of a few images I'll be posting during spring break. Currently rendering a technology image that will be ready in a couple days.

I can see that. I hadn't thought of the castle stairs, but it works for me.

Looks like you used the same technique as I used in [link] this one, only instead of using two similar flames, you used the same flame, just rotated and pasted it on top of the previous layer. It's a nice effect, but it's missing some color... Seems to be a big hit though.

Possibly, but my new one is strait forward fractal work with no postworking on it.

Ooohhh....I love how it's so...flowy and 'bird-like'! Great job on portraying the softness and great use of blue and black, too!

Thank you. That's one of the things I like a lot of apophysis, it leaves it open just enough to give people different thoughts on it.

Yes, I see the bird wings, but the very first thing I saw were staircases. Somehow this reminds me of M.C. Escher's [in]famous perpetual staircase (" Ascending and Descending"). Anything which can do that gets a !

It looks like those stairs. You know, the ons, that um, well, go into each other and layer like a distortion through time.

But they also look like very pretty wings. I really like it.

Aeires In reply to bit666-6 [2005-03-16 21:27:08 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Kinda like stairs that are like DNA chains. Since I was a kid, I've always loved spiral staircases. Something cool about them that I can't put my finger on, I just love them.

Aeires In reply to Eynowd [2005-03-16 21:30:50 +0000 UTC]

With a little postworking. I had a really great looking flame that I wanted to try some abstract techniques on. When I got this far, I couldn't see any place that could be brushed, so I left it. Had this for a few weeks unsure of whether I should post it. Finally got tired of looking at it and posted it.

Thank you. I was originally going to try abstract techniques on this, but after I tweaked it in PS, I didn't know what to do. Decided that it was better left alone, but hung onto it because I wasn't sure if I should post it or not. Glad you like it and get the name.

I honestly don't think you needed to do anything abstract to it. It's plenty abstract in its own right. And yeah, I do like it.
